Our Story

From a small kitchen in Brooklyn to a technology consultancy serving the food industry nationwide — this is how we got here, and why we do what we do.

How It All Began

Ravioli Kitchen was not born in a boardroom. It was born in the back of a restaurant, at two in the morning, when the last customer had gone home and the kitchen was finally quiet. Our founder, Biada, was scrubbing down the prep station after a grueling double shift when the realization hit: the restaurant industry was being left behind by technology, not because the tools did not exist, but because the people building those tools had never worked a Friday night dinner rush.

Biada had spent over a decade in professional kitchens. The rhythm of the line, the cadence of tickets printing, the quiet satisfaction of a perfectly plated dish — these were the things that made sense. What did not make sense was the chaos of outdated POS systems crashing mid-service, the endless spreadsheets for inventory that nobody updated, the reservation systems that double-booked parties of eight, and the websites that looked like they were built in 2003 and never touched again.

So Biada decided to fix it. Not by building another generic SaaS product that promised to solve everything and delivered nothing, but by becoming the bridge between two worlds: the world of food and the world of technology. Ravioli Kitchen was founded on a simple premise: every restaurant, every food business, and every hospitality venture deserves access to world-class technology, delivered by people who understand what it actually takes to run a kitchen.

What started as a one-person consulting operation helping a handful of local restaurants has grown into a full-service food-tech consultancy with a team of over forty engineers, data scientists, designers, and industry veterans. We have worked with single-location neighborhood spots and multi-brand national chains. The scale varies, but the mission never changes: make technology serve the food, not the other way around.

Our Mission & Values

We believe that the intersection of food and technology is one of the most exciting frontiers in the modern economy. Our values reflect both the discipline of the kitchen and the rigor of engineering.

Respect the Ingredient

Every system we build begins with a deep respect for the raw materials — the data, the people, the existing infrastructure. We do not rip and replace for the sake of novelty. We enhance what already works, and we do it with the same care a chef brings to a prime cut of meat.

Mise en Place

In French kitchens, mise en place means everything in its place. We apply the same philosophy to technology. Clean architecture, well-documented code, properly configured environments — preparation is everything. A rushed deployment is like a rushed sauce: it never turns out well.

Service, Always

Hospitality is not just for dining rooms. It is for every interaction we have with our clients. We answer calls, we respond to emails, we show up when things break. Our clients are not tickets in a queue — they are partners in a shared mission to build something excellent.

Continuous Improvement

The best chefs never stop learning. Neither do the best engineers. We invest heavily in professional development, maintain active research partnerships, and stay at the cutting edge of both culinary trends and technological advances.

Sustainable Growth

We do not believe in growth at any cost. We believe in growth that makes the world better — for our clients, for their employees, for their customers, and for the planet. Technology should reduce waste, not create more of it.

Radical Transparency

No hidden fees, no locked-in contracts, no proprietary black boxes that you cannot escape. We build on open standards, we document everything, and we make sure you understand exactly what you are paying for and why.

The Team

Ravioli Kitchen brings together an unusual mix of talent: former chefs who learned to code, software engineers who fell in love with food, and industry veterans who have seen it all. This diversity of perspective is our greatest strength.

Our Timeline

2014 — The Beginning

Biada Ravioli Kitchen LLC is formally incorporated in Brooklyn, New York. The first three clients are neighborhood restaurants within walking distance of the founder's apartment. Services offered: basic website development and POS troubleshooting.

2016 — First Growth Phase

Hired the first three employees. Expanded service offerings to include cloud migration and custom software development. Began working with multi-location restaurant groups across the Northeast.

2018 — Data Practice Launch

Formally launched our data science and analytics practice. Hired our first cohort of data engineers and statisticians. Deployed our first machine learning models for demand forecasting and menu optimization.

2020 — The Pivot Year

When the pandemic hit, we helped over sixty restaurants transition to online ordering, contactless payment, and delivery logistics within six weeks. This period defined our reputation for speed, reliability, and genuine partnership.

2022 — National Reach

Established a fully remote operating model. Began serving clients in all fifty states. Launched our AI and automation practice. Team grew to thirty people.

2024 — The Next Chapter

Team surpasses forty members. New focus areas include sustainability tech, kitchen robotics integration, and blockchain-based supply chain traceability. The mission remains the same: technology that serves the food.
